Obviously, the iconic Taj Mahal is the most famous UNESCO World Heritage site in India.

India has 37 UNESCO World Heritage sites (29 Cultural sites, 7 Natural sites and 1 Mixed site,) which places India sixth in the number of sites in the world. The only countries with more sites are Italy (53), China (52), Spain (46), France (43), and Germany (42).
