Night View of the Danube, Budapest, Hungary

boat on the Danube BudapestAs you walk around Budapest, you're confronted constantly with lovely Danube vistas, day and night. In fact, the buildings that line the river make up collectively a view that's been given Unesco World Heritage status.

This shot was taken about 6:30 p.m. from the Margarit Bridge. The spectacular Hungarian Parliament is on the left bank. The Buda Castle is in the center on the right bank, and on the far right is the Matthias Church at the Fisherman's Bastion. The bridge in the center is the beautiful Chain Bridge.

As you can see, Budapest takes pains to light itself at night and show off her considerable beauty. She knows she's lovely and isn't shy about it.
