Frida Kahlo’s Dresses, Mexico City

Frida Kahlo's dressesThe Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was famous for her sense of style. She always dressed in some variation based on the clothing of her native Oaxaca. When Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera died, they instructed their executor not to open certain rooms of the house, and not to reveal their contents. However, when the executor died, the rooms were opened by the Kahlo foundation and many items of Frida's clothing, jewelry, and sadly, her many corsets she used to support her broken back, were discovered. Many of her dresses, and some of the corsets, are now on display at the Frida Kahlo Museum, which was made in the house she shared with her husband.
