The Circus, Budapest, Hungary

budapest circus 2We sure do spend a lot of time in museums and churches and the like. So we thought we'd break up the week in Budapest with an old style–read Eastern European–circus. There was a lion tamer and, believe it or not, trained house cats.

I didn't think it was possible to train cats, but as long as you don't ask them to do anything more than jumping around from platform to platform, I guess it is.

But, there were jugglers and acrobats and strong men and about 10 different kinds of intricate balancing acts on various kinds of apparatus. And, there were the flying trapeze artists, which are beautiful and scary at the same time. They made some great catches, and also missed the biggest trick three times. Nevertheless, like I said. It was beautiful.
