A bit of color in a gray city. We walked for a couple of hours around the center of Belgrade, Serbia before coming upon the Saborna Church, a Serbian Orthodox gem just up the hill from the Danube. We'd visited the new Saint Sava church, which is under construction and is now pretty much only a formed concrete promise of better things to come.
For some reason, our Viking River Cruises tour passed by this lovely smaller church without stopping. We were lucky to stumble upon it, and I was lucky I had my big Nikon D800E with me. A less sensitive sensor would never have been able to capture the color of the wonderful altarpiece, which was lit only be a little window light and the chandelier.
